Media Chat: Economic consequences of the Ukraine war

In today's talk with media representatives, IHS economists presented data on the economic impact of the war in Ukraine.

Klaus Weyerstraß first provided general information on the share that Russia, Belarus and Ukraine have in Austrian imports and exports, as well as insights into the effects on world trade. Alexander Schnabl then presented calculations on the short-term value-added effects of de facto exports to the countries on the Austrian economy. Finally, Sebastian Koch gave an overview of the current inflation trend, with a focus on the energy factor.
