Not only was the western part of Ukraine part of the Habsburg Empire, but Ukraine also bore the greatest burden of human lives in the course of the invasion by the Wehrmacht in World War II. Moreover, it is necessary to overcome the omnipresent nationalism. In this sense, it should not remain just an idealistic gesture.
