Photovoltaic and wind power expansion in Lower Austria

A current IHS study commissioned by the AMS Lower Austria analyses the potentials and challenges of photovoltaic and wind power expansion in Lower Austria.

By the year 2030, Lower Austria wants to expand the amount of electricity generated by photovoltaics from 663 gigawatt hours (2021) to 3,000 GWh, and the amount of electricity generated by wind power from 4,150 GWh (2021) to 8,000 GWh. To describe the economic and labor market effects of this expansion, the study uses a research design that includes both quantitative and qualitative methodological approaches.
