Heinrich Neisser Lecture 2021 with Jutta Allmendinger

We do not know when - and if - the virus can be defeated. That is precisely why we must act quickly and decisively. Because the virus does not affect us all equally. On the contrary, it exacerbates social inequality. We can and must counteract this. On October 13, we welcome Prof. Jutta Allmendinger to the Heinrich Neisser Lecture 2021 where she will talk about COVID-19 and the question of class. All those who cannot be present on site have the possibility to follow the event via livestream.

Living with Corona: Vaccinate? Vaccinate! Vaccinations.

When they did not yet exist, they were longed for. When vaccines were developed in record time, the impatience of many was great. Now that there are sufficient supplies, at least in Europe, it is too late to really contain the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Nevertheless, all data so far indicate that the course of the COVID-19 disease is significantly mitigated by vaccination. Why, then, has vaccination become the (latest) subject of intense and highly emotional discussion and conflict in the context of the Corona pandemic? What explains the sometimes significant differences in vaccination coverage across Europe (and why is Austria at the bottom of this list)? In this webinar, current research results on vaccination will be presented.

Climate protection and sustainability are the most pressing challenges of our time - and hardly anyone openly doubts that there is an enormous need for action. The "Climate Change Map" maps the relevant stakeholders in Austria and identifies driving and restraining forces as well as their power potential.
