Stefan Vogtenhuber is a Senior Researcher in the research group Educational Structures and Educational Opportunities. He has been part of the academic staff at IHS since 2004. He earned his Doctorate in Sociology from the University of Vienna in 2015. Since 2021 he is Assistant Professor at the University of Vienna, Department of Sociology. In 2008 he received the Austrian Research Award for Vocational Education and Training for the paper Returns to Education and Training in Austria.
His research interests focus on education, VET and adult learning and their labor market and broader socio-cultural outcomes. He analyzes qualification and skill attainment by social origin, occupational outcomes of educational activities and their institutional determinants using quantitative methods, including experimental and quasi-experimental designs, based on a wide range of administrative and observational data sets. -
