In der Onkologie ist die Subspezialisierung – die Verengung des klinischen Schwerpunkts innerhalb der Krebsbehandlung – zunehmend verbreitet, doch ihre Auswirkungen auf die Behandlungsergebnisse der Patienten sind nach wie vor kaum bekannt. In seinem Vortrag „The Value of (Sub)Specialization: Evidence from Oncology“ gibt René Karadakic Einblicke in seine aktuelle Forschung zur Rolle und zum Mehrwert von (Sub-)Spezialisierung in der modernen Onkologie sowie deren Implikationen für Gesundheitssysteme und Versorgungsqualität.

René Karadakic is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Health Policy and Management at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. He received his PhD in Economics from the Norwegian School of Economics, where he was part of the labor economics group at the Centre for Experimental Research on Fairness, Inequality, and Rationality (FAIR). René´s research interests lie in applied microeconomics, with a focus on health and labor economics. He is currently working on projects related to access to specialized health care and the structure of the U.S. health care workforce.
