The first ASAF Impact Study 2021 explores the impact of mobility programmes on the personal and professional development as well as the experiences in the international higher education system of African students. The survey is therefore addressing African students who have either completed an intra-African mobility study period or who have spent parts of their studies in Europe. The questionnaire were developed in cooperation with the African Students and Alumni Forum (ASAF), an EU-funded non-profit organisation of alumni with study mobility experience. As this was only a pilot project, new question modules will be developed together with ASAF for a more extensive follow-up project, in order to be able to use the results to improve study (mobility) conditions in the long term.
The IHS Research Group Higher Education Research (HER) is responsible for the conception of the questionnaire, data analysis and supports the processing of the results with its expertise.
This project is part of a framework contract (Erasmus Mundus Students and Alumni Association, EMA) funded by the EU, which also includes the Graduate Impact Survey (GIS) and the Western Balkans Alumni Association (WBAA) Tracer Study 2021.
