VCÖ Mobility Award: Project with IHS participation among the winners

A project consortium involving IHS researchers won this year's VCÖ Mobility Award in the Concepts and Ideas category.

The VCÖ Mobility Award is the largest competition for sustainable mobility and climate-friendly freight transport. Out of 363 projects submitted, 13 projects were awarded prizes, including the project “Fighting Hindrances. Fair Mobility for All.” The project was developed as part of a social lab and draws attention to everyday obstacles for people with visual impairments.

At the heart of the project are signs that use short picture stories to highlight the problems caused by specific obstacles (e.g., incorrectly parked objects blocking a guidance system). These signs can be attached directly to the obstacles. A QR code on the signs leads to further information, reporting centers, and templates for self-printing.
