The University Report is published by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research to inform the National Council of recent developments at the Austrian public universities. In the section “Graduates – Main instance for the knowledge transfer of universities”, we discuss the development of the qualification level of the Austrian population as well as current literature and statistics on the situation of graduates on the labor market. Furthermore, we address phenomena such as skills mismatch, migration behaviors of graduates, and the possible effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. Another focal point is the transition from universities to the labor market.
