Team: Nora Haag, Bianca Thaler, Martin Unger, Patrick Mathä, Stefan Humpl (3s), Alexandra Stieger (3s)
Duration: 2019–2020
Funding: Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research (BMBWF)
Cooperation: 3s research laboratory

The evaluation covers the admission regulations of very popular bachelor and diploma degree programs, degree programs subject to the German numerus clausus as well as very popular bachelor and diploma degree programs at individual universities. The main research questions address the development of the number of study beginners with regard to sociodemographic characteristics as well as applicants, who have (voluntarily) dropped out of the admission procedure before the entrance exam. Several data sources are used: administrative data of the ministry of science, “UStat1”-data of the federal statistical office, data of the universities, and data from two surveys among the applicants.
