Insights, exchange, inspiration – MEET THE NEW IHS
The event offered participants the opportunity to learn more about the institute's recent reorganization and to engage directly with researchers during an interactive poster session. The open atmosphere fostered lively discussions and valuable input for future collaborations.
At the heart of the evening was the presentation of the new research structure, which offered guests the first comprehensive overview of IHS's areas of focus. At the beginning of 2025, the scientific units underwent a fundamental realignment: Six research groups are dedicated to the policy areas of economics and finance, labor, education, social affairs, innovation, and health. Two junior research groups are addressing the challenges of digitalization and sustainable transformation. In addition, the Competence Center for Survey Research supports the institute’s mission by delivering robust data for evidence-based policy analysis.
The event demonstrated what “research that counts” means for IHS: identifying and addressing the major economic and social challenges of our time with empirically based knowledge. An approach that guests at the event experienced firsthand.
