Social Cohesion and Polarization
The research group investigates the individual and societal causes and consequences of a lack of social, economic, and political participation. It analyzes how inequalities arise and how they can be ef-fectively combated. It also focuses on examining the efficiency and significance of social policy institu-tions and measures for integrating disadvantaged groups and overcoming social divisions.
The group combines perspectives from economics, sociology, and political science. Its methodological areas of expertise include behavioral microsimulation, (field) experiments, and intersectional analysis.
