Since late 2021, the 'How are we doing today' ("So geht's uns heute") survey has recorded changes in the living conditions, income, and well-being of private households in Austria every three months.
The rapid availability, accuracy, and comparability of the data help identify the effects of crises, such as the current rise in prices or the pandemic, on the population in a timely manner.
The questionnaire covers topics such as household income, financial expenses and obligations, ability to make ends meet, payment difficulties, and life satisfaction. These questions provide insight into the living conditions of various groups and the social ramifications of crises. These results form an essential foundation for social policy in Austria.
The special focus topics for waves 10 and 11 were gender differences and the consequences of unemployment.
