The study shows the current status of internationalisation at Austrian higher education institutions. An analysis of secondary data sources (e.g., higher education statistics, personnel data, graduate tracking) on the one hand and primary surveys (Austrian universities) on the other serve as empirical basis. Specifically, the study examines: (1) which internationalization strategies are being pursued at different levels, (2) the status of internationalisation regarding students, (3) to what extent internationalization is being implemented at the level of scientists.
