Carbon taxation, carbon subsidies and ETS payments in Luxembourg. An Environmentally Extended Input-Output-Analysis

Project Lead: Alexander Schnabl

Duration: October 2021 – August 2022

Funding: Chambre des salariés du Luxembourg

This study was carried out as two separate yet thematically closely related projects. Current energy and transport taxes as well as carbon relevant subsidies in Luxembourg were analyzed utilizing an Environmentally Extended Input-Output-Analysis. We also ran the model for four fictional carbon taxation scenarios, with further versions including a sensitivity analysis with a varying ETS price. The analysis was based on FIGARO tables provided by Eurostat.
