Mijail Figueroa-Gonzalez is a sociologist whose research explores how working while studying shapes students’ life course trajectories and contributes to social stratification. He focuses particularly on the risks and gains associated with student employment, examining how these vary across social backgrounds and educational contexts. He is the principal investigator of GROW, a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action funded project (2025-2027) that examines who benefits and who faces challenges when working while studying, and under what conditions.
