New heads of research groups at IHS

As of January 1, 2024, the research groups "Energy, Environment and Sustainable Economic Structures" and "European Governance, Public Finance and Labor Market" at the Institute for Advanced Studies (IHS) will have new heads.

Christian Kimmich will take over as head of the "Energy, Environment and Sustainable Economic Structures" research group at IHS. Kimmich is an expert in environmental economics and ecological macroeconomics. He succeeds Klaus Weyerstraß, who is moving to the "Macroeconomics and Business Cycles" research group as an expert in international business cycles and foreign trade.

The IHS research group "European Governance, Public Finance and Labor Markets" will be jointly headed by Susanne Forstner and Felix Schröter. They both specialize in researching labour markets and public finances and succeed political scientist Katrin Auel, who is leaving IHS at her own request.

The research group heads will be appointed on an interim basis. In order to fill management positions on a permanent basis, IHS will publicly advertise positions internationally in 2024.
