Eva Liebmann-Pesendorfer works as Secretary General at the Institute of Advanced Studies, Vienna, since June 2019. She previously had several positions at the Austrian Federal Ministry of Finance. Before joining the IHS, she headed the ECOFIN Unit at the Austrian Permanent Representation in Brussels (during the Austrian EU Presidency 2018), she held a post as Financial Attachée at the Austrian Embassy in Washington, D.C. During that time, she focused on the new financial supervisory architecture after the Global Financial Crisis as well as international tax matters. She also worked as policy advisor (in the field of International and European financial affairs) for two Ministers of Finance. In addition, she was working as policy analyst for the US Federal Reserve of Boston, where she co-authored a paper on Global Standards for Liquidity Regulation. Eva Liebmann-Pesendorfer gained her Doctorate at the Karl-Franzens-University Graz (Business Administration), participated in several exchange programs (Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Zagreb and at the Rider University in Lawrence Township, New Jersey) and also holds a Master of Public Administration from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
