  • Shauna Stack is a junior researcher at the Institute for Advanced Studies (IHS) in the Science, Technology and Social Transformation Groupe. She completed her Bachelors' degree at Emory University in the United States, where she studied Cognitive Science with a focus on Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology (NBB). Shauna came to Vienna by way of New York City, where she worked at a technology and investment firm and the media organisation TED Talks. In 2017, she began her Masters' at the University of Vienna Department of Science Technology Studies (STS) where she was mainly interested in research and innovation cultures and the politics (of), qualitative methods, economic sociology and contemporary movements in research policy. At the STS department she was a tutor for ‘Science in Society Laboratories’, a course covering public controversies at the intersection of science and society. She wrote her masters thesis on institutional discourses around the quantification and valuation of social impact.
