On April 2nd the "Virtual Skills Lab" kicked off with a meeting of all partner organizations: IHS, AIT, Karl Landsteiner Privatuniversität für Gesundheitswissenschaft, Polycular OG and the consortiums leader 4dimensions GmbH. The FFG-funded project aims to create a virtual training laboratory that provides soft skill training for employees in middle management via Virtual Reality.
In the coming months there will be a systematic review of relevant literature about VR-interventions and their consequences, trainable skills and technical aspects of the implementation. Additionally there will be expert-interviews with occupational psychologists, -sociologists, -doctors and people from the areas of VR, IT, economics and law. IHS research group Techno-Science and Societal Transformation is part of the multidisciplinary team and mainly responsible for the ethical reflection, the project duration is 30 months.
