The results of the fourth wave of the "So geht's und heute" survey conducted by Statistik-Austria and IHS on a quarterly basis show that the economic situation of Austrian households and, in particular, that of vulnerable groups worsened further in the fall of 2022. One major reason for this was inflation. While the share of people affected by income losses stabilized at a high level, a growing number of people experienced difficulties in meeting their living expenses compared with the previous survey (wave 3 in Q2/2022).
