Digitalization is no miracle cure for traditional gender roles

As part of the research project "Digityps", researchers from the Institute for Advanced Studies (IHS) and L&R Social Research have been examining the effects of the effects of digitization on gender relations in the world of work, as well as the associated challenges and possibilities for shaping a world of education and work without gender gender-related restrictions. At an international conference on November 17, the institutes presented key results of the project, which is supported by the European Commission. Across different fields of investigation, one commonality emerged: traditional gender stereotypes and roles are still relevant even in the context of a working world characterized by increasing digitalization.
