The Institute for Advanced Studies is an independent, non-profit research Institute covering the areas of Economics, Political Science, and Sociology. Since its inception in 1963 the IHS has been, and continues to be, committed to the highest quality standards of research and postgraduate education.

ECONOMICS AND FINANCE
The Academic Research and Teaching Group offers MSc and PhD programs in economics and specializes in academic research. The Applied Research Group is mainly conducting contract research for public and private clients.

SOCIOLOGY
The Department of Sociology offers a three-year postgraduate training in Sociology of Social Practices. Teaching is closely linked to the departmental basic research of contemporary societies and comparative empirical research in special societal fields.
