Political Science

The Department of Political Science features prominently in the international scholarly community. It regularly hosts internationally renowned visiting professors, who conduct a significant share of the seminars offered in the Department’s postgraduate programme. Guest lecturers from all over Europe add to the spirit of international intellectual exchange within the Department. Members of the Department also collaborate with colleagues from abroad in joint research projects and present their results at key international conferences and workshops.

In addition, the IHS Department of Political Science has a long tradition of close collaboration with the Austrian Political Science Association (ÖGPW). The Department hosts the ÖGPW’s secretariat and has been the venue of many ÖGPW conferences, workshops and meetings.
